Can I Animate This 5
Yes
This is a side profile of a Monster High doll, and a Barbie boy child (who I thought was called Todd, but when I looked him up it’s not Todd and I couldn’t figure out if he even had an official name.)
This is the final part of my experimental print animation adventure, because I’ve finished the video.
But do read up on the other parts and find out how I made it:
And here’s the video. I wrote the song with the idea that this is what the toys and figurines are saying, or thinking. Some of these characters have been existing around me for a long time. I’m choosing to believe they like me and don’t mind being here.
I kind of believe that toys have souls - if they have a face at least. I think their souls come from us, we project it onto them - especially if we care about them. What do you think? Does a teddy have a soul? Does a PEZ dispenser in the shape of Amy-Rose-The-Hedgehog have a soul?
Here is the artwork I made to go with the music release. I used my messier, inkier inkpad - which was no good for animation because the excess ink would build up on my plasticine. For a handful of individual prints, though, it was alright and I appreciate the strong contrast. It looks like I printed it on a photocopier, which immediately makes me want to make zines (maybe I will?).
I guess that’s the conclusion of the whole project - something I’ve been working on between other things for about five months. I IMPLORE you all to document your toys, figurines, household objects, and textures, in print form. Just do a few in your sketchbook or something, why not? I bet you’ve got an inkpad somewhere, and if not playdoh or plasticine, you probably have a ball of blu-tack?
Thank you for reading this and joining me on this print/animation journey!!!! <3

This is incredible!! And yes, you should absolutely make zines!
